I’ve ordered and received the KegBot and connected 2 flow meters. I’m using a brand-new Nexus 7 and got it basically set up without any problems. Both taps are measuring flow.
Unfortunately it appears to me that some of the basic features like changing the image of the beer require a server side component. Is this true or am I missing something?
Also, is there a way to set the volume of a new keg? For example if I tap a three-quarter full keg is there any way to set it’s volume to anything less than 18.9 liters?
Digital ocean is by far the easiest way to do it, and its only $5 a month. Or you could install the server on an old laptop running Ubuntu like I originally did.
And with the server you can set a custom keg volume from the keg page when adding a keg, or write off any missed volume as “spilled”
Kegbot originated as “server only” and still has the most features implemented there.
“Standalone mode” is new and only includes a subset of the zillions of server features. Yes, it’s even lacking basic ones like changing images: we just haven’t had the time to devote to developing it further…
